When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Gets Stronger

sunrise

Welcome to the Home of ShatteredWishes!

This blog is dedicated to all of my wonderful readers who I have met and cried with over the years. It’s for the ones who have bipolar, no scratch that, it’s for anyone who has ever dealt with mental illness. The ones who search and search for “The One” but can NEVER seem to find him/her. The ones who drink and drink all the way down to the bottom of a bottle, smoke their whole lives away, or just can’t break the endless cycle of addiction.

This is my story. This is your story too my friends.

I have had a lot of toxic people come and go in the past, and through my hardships, I learned the power of self-compassion and forgiveness. I have also learned to let go of a lot of things that used to cause me stress and worry. I had cataloged some of my journey in two previous blogs, which you can read here in case you’re interested:

Musings of an Unchained Soul – (2013-2015)

Love With a Dark Heart in Chains – (2015-2017)

Being bipolar isn’t easy, not by a long shot, but I don’t plan on letting it conquer me in any way, shape or form. So, join me as I navigate my way through my relationships and battles with mental illness. Hopefully, I can help you on your journey too and we can learn how to survive this crazy world together!

“Remember you were given this life because you’re strong enough to live it”

Stay tuned.

    Hi there!
I just came to see your blog, since you had liked one of my posts.
I am interested in seeing what you have to say, because looking at your tags, it seems you have quite the experience with life that is worth sharing to other people. I’m hitting the “follow” button now and I look forward to reading more.

    • Hey there! I am going to take a look at your blog now. I am glad you found my new blog! Was it really hard to find me? I really don’t want to be connected to that old blog, there was way too much drama going on there.
But I am looking forward to reading some of your stuff too.
Hope to get to know you a bit, and see if I can help you out.
*Hitting the follow button* in return 🙂

Thanks for showing an interest in my blog. I like your writing and respect your openness and honesty about the difficulties you are facing. I closed an old Twitter account with 300 followers to I can relate to how you feel about your old blog. I hope you stay strong and keep writing.

    • Thank you for your kind words. It was difficult to leave and start over yes, but I think it was time for a change and to start anew. I look forward to reading more of your posts. Thanks again and God Bless xoxoxo

I may have to do the same thing you are doing. I’m always ever so careful on who I allow to read my blog, BUT i’m afraid that some one someday will find this one.. I enjoyed what I’ve read thus far, thanks for reading my blog.

    • You’re welcome, also, thanks for reading mine and commenting ❤ It's been a rough ride for sure. I had even wanted to get more exposure from Facebook and Twitter, but those too have been "tainted" by certain individuals. Be very careful who you let see your work, (especially if it's about them). hopefully though it never happens to you.

  6. Thanks for stopping by my blog and showing some love. I’m definitely interested in keeping up with yours, it takes a lot of bravery to shed baggage and the weight put on you by others, well done. Something I’m fighting through very much at the moment too, so your journey resonates with me a lot

Haven’t logged on in awhile. Thanks for stopping by! I’m starting to think relationships are not for me, online or otherwise. It’s possible I may be a chronic “fixer”, looking for issues to solve. So, I will resolve to give up on women… Then some time later find myself digging in again! Haha! There’s got to be a better way! Maybe the old way, person to person. Maybe I’ll look for volunteer opportunities? Oh yes! I have also had the heartbreak. It’s funny, passion is an addiction I can do without. (I’m not as bitter as I sound…I’m recovering) 😉

    • It’s good to see you again! Yes, I get that online relationships are tough. It’s tough to invest in a person and have them leave you in the dust. I am battling with my own demons as well. Anyway, I am glad you’re still around and still blogging! If you hadn’t noticed I changed sites. Long story short, my other blog got followed by a couple of stalkers so I needed to break away. So here’s my new site, so feel free to follow. See you around the WordPress vine! www,unchainedshadow.com

I found your blog from a signature you have on a different website’s forum. I’m so sorry people in your life made your blogging experience unpleasant. I have people in my life (hubby, other family) that read my blog, so I’ll admit that I do write my posts accordingly, but I don’t withhold everything. My husband has never ever written anything negative on my blog, but has asked me to remove a couple of posts. That’s the price I paid by letting those close to me into my blogging world. I did cut the cord between my blog and my social media accounts. I didn’t want just anybody or distant cousins too close to my inner world.

    • Thank you for finding me. I think you may have seen me on PsychCentral as that is where my blog is on my signature. My road through my mental health has been a hard one and I have to say it was a changing blogs was a difficult step for me. I understand the need for some privacy on your blog, as I have cut the social media from mine too, but sometimes it’s best we just let our words out there with no real ties to us, like I have done here. Good luck with your writing, and send me a message on PsychCetntal sometime.
